New Site - PLEASE READ

Hello All,
My name is Ashley and I am the one that moved the forum to its new hosting location. This was done for security reasons and try to keep the forum from going down every other day. I understand that the new forum looks very different from the old one but I promise almost everything you had before you still have it might just be in a different place.

Items that are gone due to a limitation of the new hosting/ forum update:
- Awards
- Flags

As I was going thought your posts I was able to fix a lot fo the issues you were listing. Below is kind of a running list of issues an what is fixed and what I am still working on.

Items that I have fixed from your comments:
- Smilie are now working.
- Color/Theme changes
- Signature are now showing up. (Here is how to edit them https://screencast.com/t/OJHzzhiV1)
- Ranking is now showing up.
- Private messaging is now working.

Some issues I am still working on are:
- Missing items from the Calendar
- Like button the posts is giving an error.

One other note I have seen a lot is theme/color related items. I know this is important to all of you but at the moment the most important thing was getting you back a functioning forum with as many features I can get you back from before.

Theme/color is something we can change but it the moment I do not have the time and resources to fix all of the issue and design the site. I did do some theme updates yesterday but it is very time consuming. Please just be patient with the forum as we get it back to as close as I can to what you had before.

If anyone has any issues that they are running in to please let me know in the post below. Please give me as much detail as possible .

Just a thought but we are not going to start this until after the holidays right? As a lot of us will be away.

Bulletin to l'Armée du Nord (1st of june 1815)

            Soldiers,

I have returned to lead you onto the battlefield and to glory once again.
France has asked me to. It is the work of an irresistible force, the work of the unanimous will of a great nation which understands its duties and its rights.
The dynasty which was forced on the French nation was not suited to it. This fat king would associate itself neither with its feeling nor its customs. France demanded a liberator. I have therefore returned and from the spot where I landed, the love of my people bore me to the bosom of the capital. I have not usurped the throne as the dynasties of all Europe proclaim, and if so, where then was the resistance to my return?

Now I am to be considered an outlaw by entire Europe when in fact all I want is peace and to repay my people with happiness for the affection that they have shown me. It is they that want war, not I nor you! By clashing against the will of the French people, they have shown their true face: the one of the oppressor. France cannot be a friend of any oppressor, and therefore we march…

Let the eagles fly once again from steeple to steeple as they have flown in the past from Egypt to Warsaw.
We shall fall upon them as a torrent as we did at Rivoli, we shall crush them as we did at Austerlitz, we shall pound them in submission as we did at Wagram !!!!

No coalition can resist the might of the French people in arms…

            Napoleon I,
            Emperor of France

Good stuff Stratego, very inspirational. BTW, have you started thinking about your initial dispositions and the campaign planning that follows it?

I have been thinking along these lines in game terms. How about for the casual reader, the three C-in-C's write two communiques each game day for open reading in the thread. One as a general report to the home newspapers, the other to the home 'government' on the situation as they see it.

These would be in addition to the general rumour reports I'll be posting each day along with the various combat reports.

                If so, I volunteer.

I'll take Pirch. I'm still a little confused as to how this plays out though.

Don't feel too bad, I'm confused as myself and as Zieten, however the Ogre shall not prevail!

Sehr gut! Willkommen, Pirch! Don't worry, you will grow in the job.
and as the usurper apparently hasn't had enough you will grow very tall indeed!!

Now we only need a Thielmann to make our command complete and start our first war council.

                          OK...

Just 5 commands to Go. Has anyone any questions, comments or suggestions about things so far?

When we are ready to start, the Emperor and then his commanders will/should send me private messages containg both their orders for their commands and their personal intentions in game. These will determine the actions on the night of the 15th-16th June. The first game turn (2 in game hours) will begin at 4AM on the 16th June. Its possible that some French commanders may have little to do, where as the 'allies' will be recieving their first intel and may wish to get their troops on the march.

Both sides will get private updates as events produce them and general rumours will be posted. Remember to that unless your player-commanders are together in game, messages to others (50 word max) should be sent through myself (acting as your ADC), and i'll send them on after the appropriate time. I hope its fairly clear.

                          Good luck

Generals von Zieten, Pirch und Bülow, we will not wait for Thielemann, he will join us as soon as he reports for duty.

Gather on my location for War Council now, for reasons stated by Gaz above. After the war council is over, you will rejoin your respective Corps.

And don't worry, this is the last operational command I'll make over open lines. We will let the 'Fog of War' descend over our enemy.
I'm sure colonel Clausewitz, CoS at Thielemann's Corps, can appreciate this phrase
