  • Polish Lancer. Which regiment I don't know

    Comment

    • Duke,
I would suggest its a Bavarian lancer because of the
uniform colors and the lance pinion. Regt. couldn't tell ya.

      • That's what I thought. But it's a picture of S. Pajsczkowska, a Polish artist, which I found on http://www.bookpalace.com/acatalog/H..._Art_1181.html. The title given is Polish Lancer 2.

        Here are the details:

        Artist: S. Pajsczkowska

        Medium: Watercolour on Paper

        Size: 11" x 13" (270mm x 320mm)

        Signature: Signed by Artist

Description: An original watercolour painting, one of a series of four by Polish artist Pajsczkowska painted in 1965. This depicts a Napoleonic lancer.

        • Here's another light blue one..

The pennant would indicate a higher number, was there a 22nd regiment?

              • Hmm,

Could also be a uniform from the 1830 insurrection.
judging by the large eagle on the shapska.

Those 30th are French chevaux legers, I think..

                {edit} Yes, 9th cheveaux-legers ex-30ieme chasseurs

                      • Can anyone identify this uniform please?

It was originally called a Polish Lancer 1812.

                        Mant thanks in advance.

                        • Definitely a German state lancer because of the symbol on the
                          saddle cloth. (double necked eagle)

Can you say which German State and what year? And the Double-headed Eagle is also found on the coat of arms of the following countries and territories:
                            Albania
                            Austria-Hungary (historical)
                            German Confederation (historical)
                            Holy Roman Empire (historical)
                            Russian Empire (historical)
                            Serbian Empire (historical)

I've looked through loads of uniforms and it has me stumped.

To be Honest, I'm a bit at a loss with your apparently Polish Lancers. I've never seen that uniforms before and I can't find anything. Is it made up?
