Just finished these for Victrix plastic 28mm figures to be released soon. The neutral background is to enable a background to be inserted during the later box design process. Austrians Shako small.jpg
The connection to internet is very slow and costs me a lot go up the images, but promise that the Monday will continue putting more things on the Spanish army
Frustrated by last post by danhochi, 3 austrians. I like to print 7 by 5 photo paper , comes out very small would love to see as individual figures, Waterloo Companion by Mark Adkin has numerous incidents at Waterloo which would make fine subjects for a painting. Ref . Wellingtons withdrawal to Mont St Jean. The skilled tactics of Wellingtons cavalry and horse artillery ensured that the Duke was able to make a clean break. After the battle of Quatre Bras had ended in stalemate. A number of spirited actions took place at Genappe and eldswhere , several in drenching rain amid the flash of lightning and crash of thunder mixing with those of the guns . The ten regiments that played a part in this withdrawal were. 1st Life guards, Royal Horse guards ( blues ), 1st Royal dragoons, 2nd dragoons KGL, 11th light dragoons, 13th light dragoons, 23rd light dragoons, 1st hussars KGL 7th hussars and 18th hussars

Great idea for an illustration David (especially the setting) and for those who play tabletop games, a great scenario. Talk about a key moment in the campaign. You couldn't find any better units to fill in as a rear guard.
another scene worth consideration.Belgium 5th light dragoons, brigade commander Merlen had fought against Wellington in Spain, but he led it into action with considerable elan on 16th June.. at quatre Bras the regiment attacked ( Insupport of its brother regiment ) against the 6th chaseurs of Pires division. The french recognised the uniforms of their old comrades ( which were remarkably similar to their own ) and advanced with sabres pointing down - asign that they would not attack- and called for the belgiums to ride through their ranks and rejoin their old colour. Merlen would have none of it and ordered a charge but, although repulsed there were no defection. David

Yeah and I have heard that Merlen captured a high ranking French officer, some say general, and then let him go back to his lines free. A guy who he had served with previously while he was in French service. Wish I had more information on this event as well.
