  • Omar Bradley 20 September 1950 Last 5 Star General

A picture my dad took in the late 1960's at the Torrance, Ca.
Armed Forces Day Parade of this last living 5 Star General of the Army.

This year will mark the 50th Anniversary Parade in Torrance, Ca.

Do you have any other pictures of 5 Star Generals (Post War) at
    civic events?

    Hello 17th.
    How are you?
    Thanks for posting that picture.
I've been looking at it....where is the general?
Is that him standing with the frame cover on?
    Isn't Alpine Village in Torrance?
I'll bet those trees are huge now.
    And those folding chairs?
    I'll bet they're still around.

Hola sir. General Bradley is in the box marked "Grand Marshall" in the center
of the picture. Just hit <shift> + to increase picture size. He is saluted by
      passing soldiers.

Yes, Alpine Village is in Torrance on Torrance Blvd. about 4 miles due East of
where this picture was taken, Trees are gorgeous now, but there is a library
standing behind where the review stand was at that time built in the 1970's.

At that time some folding chairs were added for guests to sit in front and
West of the reviewing stand area. probably in the basement of the library.

This year is the 50th parade, I set up another thread about Armed Forces
Day for our Nation. By the way, I recorded an audio track to accompany
a slide show of memory pictures from my mom and dad and my youth growing up in Torrance. This will be aired beginning tonight on the Torrance Cable channel 3. It was kinda fun to go to the station and record in the
      sound room.

Some of the pics are from my ACG albums.
