    Korean War Museum

Brilliant! But its a shame it took half a century to happen. The veterans of the "Forgotten War" may at last rejoice and know how much the American people appreciate and applaud their sacrifice.

I haven't been to that museum yet. I thought this was about the Korean War Musuem, i.e., the one in Seoul to the various Korean wars over the centuries. If you're ever near Yongsan, it's right outside the gate and is a great museum.

Speaking of the Korean war, they have a display in there of Korean Student Battalions -- unarmed kids, still in their high school uniforms, who fought the North Koreans in order to buy time for the Army to regroup. Heck, just typing it brings tears to my eyes. The life-size diorama (I will never forget it) shows a Korean schoolboy in his white short-sleeved shirt and black trousers, knocking a North Korean soldier (with rifle, grenades) etc. on his caboose, while other kids (boys and girls) -- a few of them with boards as their only weapons -- attack the rest of the squad.

      You've got to see it.

Sorry to hear that Seoul is off-limits -- I wasn't aware of that.

Plan to spend at least 1/2 day in the museum. I forget what it costs, but it's not much for members of the military.

it's near Yongsan, so you can (as my son and I did on our last trip there) go to Taco Bell and the PX while you're there.
