  • Questions about Publishing

I have been writing essays on the Civil War Era for over 1 year now, and I have put together 5 new essays together totaling over 80 pages double spaced. I was wondering if anyone knew how much I had to write to be considered for publishing a small book? Any good ideas on publishers? My ultimate goal is to publish a book. Any help would be great.

    1. 8,000 words.
    2. Publish America or Lulu.com. Lulu.com is online, so you don't risk being rejected. PA because they will take just about anything as long as it wasn't published before.

I am working on getting a book published by PA. But, I have used lulu before.

Thank you. Really all other publishers make you pay. Only a select few don't.

Iron Brigade, what was your experience with Lulu like? I have not heard back from many members here so I figured I would ask.

I have roughly 24,000 words. I have heard some negatives about these two options you have mentioned. Would you be able to elaborate on your experience? Any other members have other options? I am still trying to figure it all out!
