I voted for Petersburg in spite of A.P Hill's guidance at Antietam. I thought he did an excellent defensive work at Petersburg. That is a difficult town to get aroundin even in peacetime. Believe me, I have worked there.

Petersburg was critical to the supplies of the CSA army. It was a central railway junction for the Confederacy. Keeping Petersburg in the Confederacy was critical to trying to last out the war and stay alive as it were. Economics doomed the Confederacy. No question about A.P.Hill's preformance in other battles, Antietam for example. But Petersburgh was critical in keeping the CSA alive.

      Antietam for me.

I can imagine the look in Lee's eyes when he heard Hill arriving .

Also went with Antitiem. To get hs men that far that fast was quite the feat.

I voted Antietam based on all of his activity.

1- He was left behind by Jackson to parole the 10,000 man army
Jackson Captured at Harpers Ferry by a hazardous flanking move.

2- He made it to Antietam in time to save Lee's right flank against Burnside.
