  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Just decided to watch the Sergio Leone epic last night, and all I can say is: why have movies been unable to achieve that same level of 'awesomness'?

For instance, the credits intro for Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo is one of the corniest I have ever seen in my life (I love the cannon shooting out the title ). The movie is filled with boring shots and B-movie acting, but it still stands up well today.

Is it just a nostalgia factor that keeps my coming back to the spaghetti westerns year after year, or is there something deeper in that movie that I just can't place my finger on?

The name Spaghetti Western make me hungry.

It's not nostalgia. The movie is great. Music is awesome.

The problem is that they took the Spaghetti out of the westerns

These movies are in my mind some of the greatest ever made, it wasn't until I was in my twenties I heard they were considered B Grade, what nonsense!

The long opening scene in "Once upon a time in the west" is also awesome as it slowly builds up to it's climax. Pure classic.

            Sergio was a God!

            I love the Eastwood trilogy.

Once upon a Time in the West. That scene when Fonda shoots the kid is one of the most awsome in film history.

Nah, it's tradition. I'd rather eat the spagetti that see it in a western movie. You want a real western movie, look for John Wayne (or Ronald Reagan in Santa Fe Trail).

However, I'd always make time for a Reagan flick!

I think my favorite western scene is the one where John Wayne catches Robert Duvall in True Grit.

As much as I love John Wayne Westerns, The Searchers Being One of His All Time Best, there are only so many times I can listen to him say "Pilgrim" & "That'll Be The Day" in my lifetime.

The best line Clint had in a western was in Hang 'em High.
