Did anyone attend the conference on Ban Tarleton yesterday in S. Carolina? I would love to hear about it.

I desperately wanted to, but was already scheduled to speak at a Civil War conference in Farmville, VA. Sadly, I could not be in two places at once.

The conference was not about Tarleton specifically, but rather on the Battle of the Waxhaws. I just finished writing an article on Waxhaws, which is why the conference was of interest to me.

It will be in the next issue of Patriots of the American Revolution. It's being edited as I write this.

          Here's a good site:

Thanks for the site address. I found it very interesting even though I personally don't agree with much of it. I feel the author painted Ban with some broad strokes of glossy whitewash. But, for the moment at least, I'm sure I am interested to hear all sides of the debate. Did Tom and Huck show up on Saturday to paint the Waxhaws picket fence?
