I have an aquaintance who was a professional kick-boxer in Japan 40 years ago. He complained about one fight, "They told me to throw the fight in the third round. Bastards! I wanted to quit in the second."

    More stains on Sumo's Integrity

More stains on Sumo's integrity, more allegations of match fixing. They may lose their special tax status in Japan. Link below to a Japan Today story.

I had to sit through hours of Sumo in company cafeterias in between classes I had to teach for Japanese salarymen. I tried so hard to appreciate it, but ultimately failed. How is it anything but two grotesquely fat lumps of lard trying to slowly push each other off a tiny stage? And the sport is even more ceremonial and pompus than modern-day golf. However, at least modern golfers have better fashion sense!

I thought maybe the sumo association decided to boycott some buffet that was a major corporate sponsor of the network!

Though that would probably boost profits through the roof the way those guys eat!
