Forfeit the game and disband the team for the rest of the year.

Perhaps a combination of both Pruitt and HPJ's suggestions. No transfer outs for the players either!

Texas is a bit funny about transfers between schools. They turned down some eligibility requests this year when players wanted to play for another school. The UIL does not control Private Schools though.

All states are "funny" about transfers. I am most familiar with PA. Some of the decisions their ruling body makes both to deny and approve are puzzling to say the least.

The two players were on Good Morning America and were blaming their coach.

Fire the coach, who is currently on administrative leave with pay, and let the suspensions of the players stand for at least this year, longer if possible! Because someone tells you to do something stupid does not make you less culpable when you do it!

I also saw that the official is taking civil action against some or all of the parties involved. Good for him!

In retrospect I am thinking that the players involved should have been arrested on the spot and taken away in handcuffs, even if they had to release them an hour or so later just to serve as a warning.

Punishments for coaches and players have been handed down by the HS athletic body in Texas. Players banned from sports for this school year, coaches with varying degrees of suspension and probation.

Although I think the coach shouldn't be coaching... ever.
