  • NCAA investigation of Miami hits a snag

From what I gather of the link below the NCAA used information to which it should not have had access, subpoenaed testimony, in the investigation of Miami. The article seems to state that this information was obtained through some sort of contractual agreement between the NCAA and Mr. Shapiro's attorney.

Where my understanding gets shaky is not with the NCAA being in the wrong, but whether or not the error is a two way street. Shouldn't the attorney for Mr. Shapiro also have known that it was not permissible to give the investigators the material? It would appear that the NCAA isn't the only one in potential hot water here.
