  • Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Talladega= Concussion

When I came in from hunting this morning, my wife was upset. She said look. She made me look at Sportscenter.

I've said all along this stupid and suicidal racing at Talladega must either end or be changed. This was one of the hardest hits on many in recent memory during the melee at the end of Oct. 7th's event. Something must be done about the racing there.

If they want this to continue, and maybe lose one of their most popular drivers, they are more idiotic than I thought.
Nascar! WAKE UP!!! Do you want to lose your money train?

Concussions aren't fun. He also had a slight one about 5 weeks ago. A tire blew and he hit the wall at Kansas. He's had many in his career. I saw his first Daytona race, in the Busch/Nationwide series. Dick Trickle wrecked him and turned him end over end. Trickle was probably trying to light his f--king cigarette. His dad won the 500 the next day. I think he showed smarts by seeing a doctor. With all the post-concussion syndrome and the affects of it, from one who's had a severe concussion, it isn't fun whatsoever.

    Here's the story:

He misses 2 races, but I think it is the right thing to do.

Regan Smith will fill in for him.

It is a wonder Tony Stewart didn't get one, as much as he was bounced around too.

I just saw the his car camera when the wreck happened, and yeah I could see how he got a concussion. His head snapped a couple times, both of which were pretty violent. I am glad he had the guts to say something is wrong instead of just ignoring the symptoms and driving anyway. Good on him for that
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years...

I had to not work because of one once...I know how they feel. I didn't even watch the damn race last night. Didn't interest me.

That was crazy wreck at Talladega! I thought Tony was gonna be injured cuz his ride got flipped.

I hope Jr is able to recover soon and get back in his ride.

That might not be a wise move coming off a concussion. Martinsville will be like bumper cars...

Seems the doctors cleared him. At least he was smart and saw a concussion specialist. Charlotte and Kansas to me are getting to be dangerous tracks, especially after yesterday. I hope Wallace is correct about it being weathered it will fix the problems.

Looks like Jr isn't gonna race at Martinsville afterall...maybe, maybe not.

                Breaking News:

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick held a midrace news conference at Kansas Speedway on Sunday to retract his previous statement that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was cleared to race next weekend at Martinsville, Va.

I'm telling ya, it was a mean hit he took, I was surprised he was cleared for this Sun...TBH. More tests sounds about the right move.

I think so too. Concussions are nothing to fool with.

Looks like Jr has been cleared for Sunday...too bad he's out of contention for the Cup.
