Basketball does not have the extensive farm system that Baseball has. The money contracts are set up different as well.

Do it like baseball... either go right out of high schooll or have to play college two years.

A lot of the guys that went straight to the NBA in the past were not ready mentally. Most adults neurons do not start firing properly until age 22 or so. How many 18 year olds out there are ready to start making smart decisions on investing money, buying a home or even deciding on sexual companionship?

How many of those 18 year old draftees from the past have any money left? How about Daryl Dawkins, Moses Malone? Both had to "mature" a couple of years before becoming forces.

There is nothing wrong with making 19 or 20 a minimum age for playing in the NBA. Two years of college never hurt anyone.

I don't understand why a kid shouldn't be able to go pro out of high school if he is ready.
