With all the drama surrounding the Saints this up coming season, their record might be so bad that when their opponents are asked about their upcoming game with New Orleans the reply will be 'Who Dat".

Payton should be banned for life, period and anyone else for that matter and have their records expunged, and previously mentioned by me that the New Orleans Saints should have their Superbowl stripped from them and that the players and coaches should be forced to return their superbowl rings and any payments associated with that win, and that the club itself face 10's of millions in fines and given a warning that it ever does it again then they are kicked out of the League permanently.

The NFL has gone soft on this.

I agree. The NFL network last night was all a twitter with how severe this punishment was. It wasn't.

They also had a number of former and current players on in an attempt to justify what happened because, well, other players did it. Then they droned on about how the Saints shouldn't be stripped of anything because the on-side kick decision had nothing to do with the decision to intentionally injure other players.

        So?

        They are circling the wagons.

Well then any current player that has come out to justify the bounty system should also be banned for life, period.

Players don't go out there on the field to accept bounties unless they are supported/paid by the coaching staff and the head office, this goes right up to executive management level, anyone saying they did not know are out and out lying, such knowledge of paying bounties to players would have reached the ears to everyone in the club right up to the owners, who should have their ownership stripped.

Again the NFL has gone very weak on this.

Players will be disciplined. I think more harshly than most might think. Steps the commissioner may take could well be precedent setting. For that reason we won't see player discipline until the matter has been thoroughly explored and agreed to by the NFL office and the NFLPA.
