I have not eaten pancakes for years. But when I was a kid, it was always maple syrup from Quebec. Never tried sugar, but why not?

Never, but I do use it about half the time on French Toast.

I have used powdered sugar in the past but that is only if I do not have maple syrup or some sort of jam to put on them.

                  YES!

                  Sugar and lemon juice.

But the pancakes I remember are larger, thinner and flatter than the US variety.

My vote is No. But I wonder if Erkki and his classmates use maple syrup at all.

BTW, it's 100% Ohio Maple Syrup for me!

Though I use syrup on regular pancakes, I'll go along with Baldric, sugar and lemon on Swedish pancakes.

Skip the pancakes. All carbs, and all tha sugar (along with more carbs) on top of it is not good for you.

A 12-once hamsteak or 12 strips of bacon along with 6 eggs fried in that pork fat will be a good start.
