  • I think it's time for a glass of wine.

My daughter is at her Grandparents, i have the house to my self. I might even get a takeaway that's not pizza, and the saddest part is i'll probably end up watching Eurovision.

Ah go ahead.... have a take away curry, some wine and watch Eurovision, some of life's guilty pleasures.
    Enjoy.

I switched to wine to estrange myself from whiskey(just temporarily, don't worry). Red wine is garbage, white wine is good. Recommned something.

                  Strange fact about wine.

Cheap white wine is ok. Spending more than 5 or 6 per bottle will only get you incremental benefits in quality.

Cheap red wine is awful. Spending between 8 and 10 will get you something 100 x better than the budget stuff.

Give red wine another try. Pick an 8+ bottle from a good supermarket. If it stresses fruit flavours with a touch of vanilla, thats a nice combo. Aussie Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon is a good first try.

Avoid anything that stresses wood or oak on the label. Its an acquired taste, and at the cheaper price points, it just means that they add sawdust to the mix .

I prefer white wines, mainly because they are served chilled, but I really got stuck on Lambrusco's when we were in Italy. Unfortunately, they are difficult to find here in the states.

                      Hello cecilia.
                      How are you?
Would I be imposing if I asked to have a glass of wine with you?
You are a lady, and deserve to be treated as such.
One glass of wine is the acceptable limit for most people.
Would you also mind if I brought over my own wine glass?

                          Mmmm... wine....

Sweden the well known socialist nightmare (if you ask FOX) actually have state owned liquer stores called "Systembolaget". They have monoply on selling anything over 3.5% and was set up as an attempt to get a grip of the rabid alcohol consumation in the 19th century. People everywhere made booze instead of food with their grain and potatoes, when there a food shorage, so the drinking customs where not really moderate back then.
It was a grim time in our history and it was also at this time that the majority of the Swedish immigrants came to America in search of a better life...

Anyway, this "Systembolaget" has evolved into a very good buisness with very good accesablity. The greatest thing however is that they dont sell poor wines. We over here have been cheated on our god given right to buy horrible wines, and I cant say that I am complaining.

Anyway, Eurovision... that required more than a glass of wine if you ask me

I'm on my fourth glass right now . My missus has taken our son to France to see his grandmum (an evil witch by the way), and I'm by myself in an eerily quiet house. I love my wife and sprog to bits, but now and again a bit of solitude is nice .
