I have a soft spot (in my head) for Jack In The Box tacos. I worked at one in high school but then they closed all of them in this area. Every year when the wife and I visit her family in LA, I have to stop and get some. I know they're gross, but to me, they're like White Castles.

Ya know, some of my work compatriots of Latino heritage swear the only true refried beans are the ones with the lard included. I second that, nothing like a beautiful simple homemade refried bean, it's so good.

    Nice

I like to take a hard taco shell and start with a layer of refried beans. On top are diced taco sauce(?), onions, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheddar and sour cream. Until we get to the sour cream its a pretty healthy taco.

    Tacos...

Well now we come to this taste treat.

I grind some steak and add copious amounts of cumin, garlic, onions, and fry. No salt or pepper.

Friggen Southerners. Get out... No trailer trash allowed...

So I add a dash of cayenne and let it simmer till its cooked.

Then fry some corn tortillas. Yes, fry them it adds to the texture and taste.

Serve as a bar serving with cilantro, sour cream, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sharp cheddar, fresh onions, Salsa, Avocado, ect.

    Nom...
