  • Okay,Who's Your Favorite Bass Player Then?

I thought we bassists deserved equal time.
    I have eclectic tastes so-beware.
    Not in any particular order.
    Roger Glover
    Jimmy Bain
    Geezer Butler
    Ian Hill
    Steve Harris
    Chris Glen(check out Michael Schenker's Assault Attack,and you'll see what I mean.)
John Taylor(Duran Duran-don't matter what music. It is if you're good!)
    Michael Balzary
    Nikki Sixx
    Juan Croucier
    Jeff Pilson
    Sir Paul McCartney
    Bill Wyman
    John 'The Ox' Entwistle
    Me lol no.
AC/DC's bassist don't know his name.
    Paul Simonon
    Charles 'Kip' Winger
(If Alice thought he was good. He is. I respect Mr. Furnier)
    Adam Clayton
    Just a few.
I'll probably forget some. I am eating fish with my fingers and having to wipe my hands.

How could you miss Billy Sheehan, John Myung, David Ellefson, Phil Lynott, Steve DiGiorgio, DD Verni and Cliff Burton?

Billy Sheehan I agree with. As I do Lynott. I said I may have forgotten some. But the others aren't on my radar. I'm an old man. I can't eat and think at the same time.

          You also forgot:

Geddy...(omission of Mr. Lee qualifies as sacrilige of the highest order, IMO)
          Chris Squire
          Bob Daisley (way underrated IMO)
          Chuck Rainey
          Duck Dunn
          Noel Redding
          Joey DeMaio from Manowar...(thanks Jeff)
Dennis Dunaway (Original Alice Cooper Band)...monster player.
          Billy Gould (Faith No More)
          Jeff Ament
Victor Wooten...want to be amazed? Check this guy out.

          I could go on.

          But I'll stop.

Edit: Nikki Sixx may be one hell of a songwriter...but as a bassist?

I've played bass since er, 1969, ever since I heard I got pictures, candy I'm a loveable man and I can take you to the nearest star. Did me in.

Mr. Lee may be sacrilege, but this southern odd duck doesn't listen to Rush. No offense. His voice makes my ears ache.

I grant you I did forget these:
            Chris Squire
            Bob Daisley
            Duck Dunn
Dennis Dunaway (Original Alice Cooper Band)...monster player.(I agree. Just didn't know his name.)
            AND
            I remembered some more.
            Jack Bruce
Rudolf Schenker played bass on the track 'The Zoo' he was much MUCH better than the thief Buchholz.
            Rudy Sarzo
            Bobby Dall
            Chuck Wright
One my brother is after me on. And it ticks me off that I forgot
            John Deacon!
            John Wetton-another I forgot.
One I could mention, but due to my Hagar allergy-like a peanut allergy, my 2c-he's good, and he knows it. Sort of like SH
            The late Rob Grill
The late, very great Ronnie James Dio. God rest your soul Compadre.
The late Scott Smith and Benjamin Orr(born Benjamin Orzechowski.)
And of course I can't forget
            Joey DeMaio.
Me and the boys barnstormed and so did my cuz.

I had Joey DeMaio on my original list. I must have skipped over him. Michael Anthony is the one I refused to admit to.
