  • Rules in WAR?

I am very curious on what the people in this forum think about this.
Should there be rules and crimes in war?

What I think, war is war, right? How can their be rules in killing people and subduing a nation? I don't think there is a gentlemanly way of fighting war and I don't think there should be rules. The Geneva convention is a good thing, but I don't think it should be used in the same sentence with true war.

If you think there should be ANY sort of rules in war and/or crimes, then poll "YES."

If you think there should be NO rules in war, non whatsoever, poll "NO."

Poll "BOTH" if you're just uncertain or straight-up confused.

Your poll only has three options which isn't enough as written.

Without some rules of war then all wounded are fair game.

People would be more inclined to fight to the death than surrender. Making it even more difficult to defeat an Army.

I shoot at you. You shoot at me. If I wound you should I fire again to kill you if you are no longer a threat? Or should my side take you prisoner and provide medical aid when possible?
"Ask not what your country can do for you"

Left wing, Right Wing same bird that they are killing.

you’re entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

Well "some" rules would be a "yes." This is what I meant for the poll. Some or alot of rules is a "yes." No rules or crimes is a "no" and is bloody boundless war.

"Both" I just put that in there for kicks. I think my point for the thread was if people fee war is not what in theory should be and is made to "civilized." Or is "civilized" war good.

I'm not sure. I don't believe it can be changed once posted. Ask the Admiral.

I sometimes find myself longing back to that mystic period that war was only slightly more exiting, dangerous and terrible than hunting.

When would that be? I thought war has always been about wounded lying on the battlefield screaming in pain and fear as they bled out.

I'm talking about ALL RULES, regardless of situation.

Or, should wars be fought in order to do what is necessary to win the war. In other words, with out rules.
