  • Conservative or Liberal?

I'm sure there's a thread like this somewhere but anyhow:

This is pretty simple, are you a Conservative or a Liberal?

Im sure there's a lot of Conservatives on the site but I wanna see. Just answer the poll and/or post your political views!

I'll probably get some Flak if not some rifle fire for this but I am a liberalon some issues. Most of the time I am a centrist just deciding what I believe. But yes, I am a liberal/Centrist. I also think Bush is a moron and Kerry looks funny. But Bush is horrible with this war and he's also awful on domestic issues. The US is run by corporations now! And this is the first time a corporation [Haliburton] has invaded a nation. The corporations have gone out of control!

BONUS POLL: Who is cooler/funnier/more entertaining?

    Al Franken or Rush Limbaugh?
    ------------------------------------------------------

    LIBERALS!

sry I forgot to add the poll! Just answer

Niether...both are discusting fat pigs whose interest is in themselves only. I am a morderate and I have a tendency to lean towards the left on most issues. Heres my speech...if you vote for Kerry our country is through...militarily, economically and morally. All you have to do is watch this guy and what he says...its total BS and if you don't see it you are blind. Bush is a liar but kerry is a liar 10 fold. I pitty those of you who will vote blindly for this man simply because he is the democratic nominee and because hes a vet..sort of anyway.

I used to be Republican, but there's no difference any more. Bush says he'll work to do something, and the democrats will block him, if a democrat says he'll do something, the Republicans will block. Morally, I'm conservative (i.e. anti-abortion....)

I do however, support Dr. Sinister for Emperor for Life.....

Well akthough I stated myself as a liberal. Generally speaking I am a centrist, I just have some liberal ideals and Agree with a lot of Liberals. But when it comes to Bush and Kerry, they are both bad. Bush is a liar with no grammar and Kerry is a liar that looks funny.

I was previously centre left type but now I lean more to the right.

Yes both Bush and Kerry are bad.

Bush has a vague idea but no clue, so he gets ppl who know their stuff like rummy although rummy I think is just one of those techno-weaponry-over-physical/psychological-reality gunrunner salesmen, who subscribe to the remote control warfare without too much physical presence BS. Hey, it means his buddies in the defense industry get taxpayers hard-earned dollars. I can't believe that Bush Snr's name has been applied to the 10th and last Nimitz Class aircraft carrier, currently being built, during his son's administration. RENAME THIS SHIP, IMMEDIATELY!

Kerry on the other hand I think is one of those so-called champagne socialists who pretend they want to fix America's and the World's problems through airy fairy wacko idealism. One of his buddies is that traitor Jane Fonda, and we all know what she did during the war! She went to Hanoi, posed with NVA anti-aircraft artillery personnel and looking through the sights of their weapons, and even was telling the POW's in front of cameras that what they were doing(serving their country) was a crime against humanity or something. BITCH! I remember how those POW's got a beating because in passing secret msgs to her (basically telling their families back home that they were still alive) Jane Fonda handed them over to their North Vietnamese captors!

When someone mentions to me about this bitch and ppl like Ted Turner, two words spring into mind: "Sniper, up!"
"To know the weapons the enemy has is already to beat them!"

I'm split down the middle. Moderate I guess. I support "liberal" Ideals to some extent as well as "conservitive". As for Bush or Kerry I have stated in other forums that they both suck donkey butt. Both are crazy and stupid. Unfortunatly we don't really have a choice any more. I need to vote so I guess Naderwill get it. Not that he is much better but maybe he will shake up the system.

I'm certainly a moderate. The DNC doesn't do it for me anymore than the GOP does. There are some liberal views I agree with and some conservative ones, so neither party meets my needs at all.
If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

That question is crazy up here in Canada. The Conservatives are actually liberal, and the Liberals are conservative, depending on how you define the question.

Not being as familiar with the American 2 party system, which is the liberal and which the conservative for our neighbors to the south?

Well, in theory that is an easy question. Republicans = Conservative
                      Democrats = Liberals

But there are boll-weevil democrats (I'm one) that are conservative when dealing with law, military, spending, but liberal when dealing with issues of personal liberties and freedoms.

Then there are liberal Republicans, but they don't tend to have a voice in the party of choice.

First I will respond to talking heads - Franken is an infantile fool who seems incapable of rational thought. As indicated by his recent book (and previous screeds) his intellectual capacities are quite regressed, and he appears capable only of the sort of name-calling and epithets that one normally sees only on the streets of the ghettos.

As for Limbaugh - first and foremost he is a bigot. Despite his protestations that he is only stating facts or advancing theories, his commentaries are quite often denigrating, dismissive and otherwise unflattering to various ethnic and other groups. He is quite capable of rational thought, and does well present many of his arguments. However, his biases and prejudices are starkly evident in his monologues and his exchanges with callers.

As for my beliefs, I am strongly and unashamedly Conservative. I am not reactionary, bigoted, insensitive, narrow-minded or otherwise dismissive or denigarting of the views of others. I am, however intolerant of those who ascribe to untenable views, or failed sociopolitical systems (e.g. communism, socialism, the "it takes a village" group).

Ghost Soldier 14: I fully support your views, regardless of whether I agree with them, so long as you are able to rationally and unemotionally express them, and support them with factual, not conjectural, arguments. It takes some fair degree of character and integrity to enter into a place in which one expects to encounter substantial resistance and present one's views.

i would consider my self pretty left leaning. I'm a union/labor supporter. I often vote socialist worker's party or Communist in local elections. I'm strongly in favor of universal quality healthcare, mass transit, environmental protection, alternative fuels, a woman's right to choose to have a healthy, safe abortion with out social/religious stigma influencing the decision. I favor a government utterly devoid of the trappings of religion- the US dollar bill should say "In the Democratic Precess We Trust". Children should not be saying the "one nation under god" phrase of the pledge of allegiance in public school. I beleive our current government is literally looting the economy, misleading the people and manipulating the media. I feel that the elections of 2001 were a peacful but unlawful coup. Bush was not elected and put in office via a mandate of the people but via a mandate of the elctoral colledge and the US Supreme Court all of which were or have been payed off for thier complicity.

The blood of every American that dies in Iraq is on the hands of the Bush administration and this time in american history will, in it's own way take on the infamous, ominous reputation associated with the Nixon?Watergate era.....but worse.

                          I guess I'm a lefty.
