  • Saddam's found a Lawyer!

So, Saddam has found someone willing to defend him...and he's French.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3574503.stm

This guy has apparently defended Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie in the past, and notorious terrorist Carlos the Jackal.

I guess he must like a challenge...

Of course the scumbag is a Frenchie.

He'll probably kiss his cheeks and give him some French bread and wine.

I'd rather kiss Saddam's cheeks with a baseball bat and then put it someplace else unconfortable. Once I put it there, I won't want to use it again, so I'll need another one for the lawyer so I can play "Babe Ruth" with his testicles (9 innings!)

By the way, I prefer wooden bats.

I guess that means that in a system of justice a defendant doesn't get the right to have a defense council. Wow I thought that everyone was entitled to have a lawyer not it only seems that people that the US likes can do that. Agreed that Saddam is a nasty MoFo but that doesn't mean that he can't have a defense. Boy if it was that simple and "fair" then there would be alot fewer people on the streets in the US because a Judge could just say Guilty and that would be it. Wether the person was innocent or not. Boy that would be interesting course thats the way John Ashcroft wants it but then he's crazy. Anyway I just lost my train of thought after that rant so I'll end it here.

Good Lord no - with Hockey you get the chance to hit other players with your stick, Cricket is just...boring.

Not even close. It's a veeeeeeeeeeery distant cousin of baseball, but with 2 batters, 2 ptichers, and you only get 7 outs for the whole game, which usually lasts 5 days.

The important thing for this discussion is that the bat is a little longer than a baseball bat, but flat (like a giant fraternity paddle).

Perhaps a hockey stick is in order. It would take less time to be shipped from Canada then the good Doctors' secret lair in the UK.

....Plus the long thin handle is prone to snap off.

I'm just no good with a hockey stick and don't want to insult the man with ineffective smacks. It might be considered rude in France and I might not get any more cheeeeeeeeeeez.

I think the point that is being made here is while Saddam was in power, has he offered legal representation and fair trials to the thousands of his own people he has tortured and murdered? Didn't think so.

Absolutely, Doc, you're in! We can do a three way bat-around -- but if anyone else wants in, we'll have to make it a gauntlet.
