Here in PNW (WA State, Western side) we're at about $3.00-$3.30/gal. And we even have a couple refineries here in the county so it isn't transportation cost$.

It's largely due to State taxes on petro which are some of the highest in the nation. But hey, ain't no such thing as a "Deep State" operating against the will and best interests of "we the people".

Here in SE Michigan (where it is more expensive than Ohio), I have been paying about $2.85-$2.97 for Premium over the last month or so. Over the past few years Premium has been around $3.30 to $3.70 a gallon, so I am somewhat happy at the moment.

Unless your vehicle manual calls for it, you are wasting money buying premium. If you need gas for your lawn mower, snow blower, leaf blower, etc... you should be buying the expensive $4.65 a gallon RV gas. Why? There is no ethanol in that fuel which raises hell with the carburetor and fuel line resulting in expensive repairs in a year or two of use. It is 100% gasoline.

No...live in an old mining town at the base of the Front Range at 6,000' these days. Been here for several years. Weather is better - less snow and so are the neighbors. The old place suffered from advanced gentrification!

Yeah, our new vehicle calls for mid-grad fuel. Only adverse thing about it so far.
