  • When one Wife is Not Enough

For Ronaldinho, one woman isn’t enough.

The Brazilian newspaper O Dia reported on Thursday that the former Brazilian soccer star is set to wed his two girlfriends — yes, two— in an August ceremony.

At least the author addressed the obvious legal question:

Bigamy and polygamy are illegal in Brazil, but Ronaldinho’s case is a little different. He’s not planning to marry one woman, and then the other; he’s planning to marry both at the same time. That’s considered a three-person civil union, and they do exist in Brazil. The first one, between two women and a man, was recognized in 2012. Another was recognized in 2015, between three women who intended to raise a child together.
    Those Cariocas are mighty broad-minded.

There is, however, a bit of wishful thinking in play here.

The two lucky ladies? Priscilla Coelho and Beatriz Souza. Ronaldinho started dating Coelho in 2013, and began dating Souza in 2016 while he was still involved with Coelho. The trio have reportedly been living “harmoniously” at Ronaldinho’s mansion in Rio de Janeiro since December. He reportedly gives them matching allowances every month, and buys them identical presents.

Ronaldinho retired in January, which is when he reportedly proposed to his two girlfriends, giving them both engagement rings. He’s told the Brazilian media that he’s “adept” at polygamy, which is an interesting skill to brag about.

That dude had better stay faithful to both of them. A woman scorned is bad enough. Two women scorned is twice as dangerous.

Wrong. No such complicated symbol is available in Simplified Han Script.

Just put "Man with two wives" into google translate to show Simplified Chinese and I got:

                  有两个妻子的男人
Putting the same chain of symbols back in to translate to English I got:

                  Eternal curse destroys man parts

There are five Chinese scripts although only three are generally used. Simplified Han script is mainly phonetic and has fewer characters so is what you'll normally get if you are using a computer translation but it is less nuanced. Complicated concepts may well not be written in simplified Han.and this will include some ancient proverbs and modern diplomatic agreements.

                            QUOTE:
Polyandry (/ˈpɒliˌændri, ˌpɒliˈæn-/; from Greek: πολυ- poly-, "many" and ἀνήρ anēr, "man") is a form of polygamy in which a woman takes two or more husbands at the same time. Polyandry is contrasted with polygyny, involving one male and two or more females. If a marriage involves a plural number of "husbands and wives" participants of each gender, then it can be called polyamory,[1]group or conjoint marriage.[2] In its broadest use, polyandry refers to sexual relations with multiple males within or without marriage.
