  • A Nice Gesture from a Restaurant

I took my wife to the new Korean restaurant here in Fredericksburg today. On the menu, in red, large print, it said something like:

Veterans of the Korean War (prior to 1960) take 50% of all meals (includes spouses)

My dad, stepdad, and father-in-law all fought in the war, and I appreciate what they're doing to show gratitude to those who fought for their countries freedom.

I'd go back for that reason alone, but the food was darned good, too! If you're in the AO, try it out!*

*Prices were very good, too, for this area.

Wow, that's a lot more than a senior discount; they're showing appreciation for what we did for them. I see a lot of similar feelings here in Ca. from our Vietnamese immigrants. Went to a Vietnamese event recently and was really moved to see their vetrans give a bit more respect and ceremony to the US flag than their own.

Sometimes only the immigrants can only understand how dear the freedoms we and now they have in ways the average citizen has no concept of. Lots have witnessed the sacrifices troops made on the their behalf first hand.

I almost laugh these days when I see what passes for poor people in Canada, they have no freakin' idea what poor is.

That is very cool. Fredericksburg is a great city. I've been there a few times and toured the battlefield.

Choi's on Route 3 about 3 lights east of I-95. If you need better directions I'll be glad to get them.
