  • How many forums do you guys post?

Ok guys, just a little curiosity on my part here, I've seen a few of you as members in other forums and was wondering how many forums do you guys visit and post in?

As for me, I'm a member in three forums but really only hang out here!

I'll add a poll to get a better picture of the numbers, looking forward to reading your responses, feel free to list the forums if you want.

I'm on one work-related one and occasionally post at Topix (which is really dozens of co-managed forums), in addition to this one. People are just begging for my opinion on all kinds of things!

About 9 or 10. I'd say 90% of my posts are here though. I'm also on about 3 or 4 LEGO forums, a Doctor Who one, a Douglas Adams one and a few of others. This is the only military history one.

I check out gamesquad about 1-2 a month mostly for new game info...but always try and stop by the pub to give Tater a poke!

I've posted in a martial art forum that trails all the way back to usenet days. It is a great community that has many excellent debaters but they started to require members to put their real name at the bottom of posts...and homey don't play that. I'm also taking a break from MA until January so I don't even lurk.

I'm a news hound. So..it's either here or reading news.

Yeah, I've played Civilization all night, too. I remember the first time I played looking up and noticing that the sun was coming up.

Only two. Here and I write VN war book reviews and other commentary over at Radio Vietnam. I spend more time here because there is more discussion going on but if I had to choose I would say that Radio Vietnam is my first love because I was there first and only came here at the urging of another member over there. The music is Key. Whether I am posting here or there, the first thing I do is turn on the music at RVN and have it running in the background while I post. It sets the appropriate mood and I like the period music and AFVN feel a lot.

Besides, thanks to Ken Jensen they recently made me an MVP and gave me some moderator rights, so that is nice.

But anyway, while I love RVN there is much more content here and I like it very much. Especially Boonie's section

                      ACG and a friends.

It used to be too many. But the discussion is usually the same. And I found the right choice was just to pick the best one of the lot, and go there.

Why bother with second third and fourth place after all.

As it goes the site here likely has too many sections to keep track of.

Not sure anyone here actually knows the real me.
                      I didn't for a long time either.

I think I misunderstood the question when I voted. I thought you meant total forums HERE! Ah, well, I typically waste (I mean spend) most of my time posting right here in The Baracks, but flit around to two or three others to sprinkle my little tidbits of triviality. Kind of like a pigeon in a parking lot I'd say.

Otherwise, I used to post at a couple of fire-fighting sites, but those typically devolved into career vs. volly flame-fests (no pun intended) and it got tiresome. When I had to give up FF last year, I quit going to those sites altogether.

I also like a couple of rather girly sites- not the gutter kind- one on Happiness (and the pursuit thereof), and one on Uncluttering one's life. Usually interesting but ultimately futile.

I'm a member at about 8 but only post on 3. I've noticed that you can't unregister from a forum once you join, which I've wanted to do at 4 of them. Too many know-it-alls at 2 of them, and the other 2 were just boring. The other one went belly-up.

So ACG, Samurai History(very few posts there) and the Opinionated Beer Page Forums are the only ones that I visit at least twice a week. ACG, by far, gets most of my online attention.

This has been my only active forum lately, but for about four years I've been running a discussion group on personality typing:

Unfortunately it's been very quiet there lately. If anyone here would like to join and post a message or two . . .
