Imagine a ball of iron, the size of the sun. And once a year a tiny sparrow brushes its surface with the tip of its wing. And when that ball of iron, the size of the sun, is worn away to nothing, your punishment will barely have begun.

I can see it just fine.

It's a picture of two blindfolded dental hygienists trying to make a circle on an Etch-A-Sketch.

        Looks real to me!

Pay attention man - clearly only ONE of those men is fully qualified, the other one is just a trainee. I mean, the clue is right there in the picture. Sheesh!

The picture must then be fake, since no blindfolded trainee dental hygienist would be allowed to draw a circle on Etch-A-Sketch.

                That one is fake, too.

                    Doh.

Good catch. I shall report to The Pit for re-education immediately, Your Sinisterness.

                      What about this one?

The first photo was spliced together from a picture taken by Lance Cheung of a U.S. Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk near San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and a photo of a shark from South Africa taken by Charles Maxwell. The photo has been circulating since 2001.

                        Hmmm... Tricky.

If it is real (I'm not sure), I think it's a dolphin not a shark. Not that I am a marine biologist but I did once see an episode of Flipper.

                          You are right.

The photo was taken in 2003 and has since been circulated as a close call with a shark.

                              You know you're having a bad day when . . .

You turn on the TV and the news is covering the SWAT Team . . . outside your house!
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
