  • What in the World is This??

    This guy has had major trauma (accident) to his left arm. The hand was almost severed. One of the treatment pictures in the sequence shows this:

    I guess this some kind of a temporary transplant. The severed hand eventually went back to its arm (last picture) but why such bizarre treatment? Is it possible to transplant somebody's hand to his armpit and the hand is going to be happy??

    It's SOP for amputation cases, it keeps blood flow to the severed limb, in this case the hand, until it can be re-attached.

      Well, I don't see the pictures, but maybe I am lucky as I would like to eat some pizza...
