  • Heroic pig saves baby goat from drowning

Just saw this on CNBC of all places and had to post it here for your edification.

A baby goat is struggling to stay afloat in a pond when a valiant pig jumps in and nudges the goat to the safety of the shore.

    Good job, sir pig!

I bet both will be on the barbecue in the next year! My Father-in-Law loved to do that with sheep and goats.

Stupid question: Why didn't the guy filming this save the goat himself?

Another reason I don't eat pork. They are very intelligent and feeling animals.

                Missy,

Obviously you have not seen the damage to farm fields that feral hogs do in Texas! I am not so convinced that my Pot Bellied Pig was that smart. It just is a different kind of intelligence, like the difference between a dog and a cat. I remember the time fondly when my ex stuck her hand in Ernie's mouth to get something out! She got the strangest look when Ernie bit her!

I still remember the time my Mom brought us to visit my Aunt Bessie's farm near Sicily Island. Aunt Bessie and Uncle Son had a number of hogs that weighed over 300 to 400 pounds! They did not concern us until my Brother and I "borrowed" my Cousin's Softball and Bat and started hitting a few balls in the Back Yard. We managed to hit the ball into the pig pen. One hog came up and ate it. After that anytime we came up on a pig we ran screaming!

I always like a good pig story.
                    My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
                    No lie.

Looks staged. And the goat has a collar.
