  • Road Trip Time For Me!

The nice thing about being single: hitting the tourist spots while the nippers are in school!

This Monday I shall depart for Charleston, South Carolina. Looking to see Ft. Sumter, do some plantation touring, the works. With my Iphone I should be able to share pics on the fly, if I can get wi fi at the hotel.

The key part will be surviving the highways.

A new life awaits you in the off world colonies; the chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure!

Can't wait. Might even get to see your fair face in some of the pics.

    Who are you going with?

          FAIR face?

I'm going with my aunt and uncle. We take an annual trip that always seems to fall on or near Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Make sure you drive 5 under the limit on 2-lane highway, but speed up to 10 over when the passing lanes open up.
If you can't set a good example, be a glaring warning.

I thought that you turned 30 a few months ago? Who's driving? Whose car is it?

If you're going to be in that area, stop and see the U.S.S. Yorktown...IIRC she's near Fort Sumter.

I hope the Feral Kid doesn't throw a boomerang at Pirateship if that's who he's traveling with.

                      Have a good trip Pirateship!

Fort Sumter is in the harbor; USS Yorktown and the Patriots Point Museum is on the Cooper River* near the harbor. Charleston AFB was fun for plane watching if you do that. It's connected with the Charleston Airport and there used to be ADC F-106 interceptors at the far end of the runway close to the Airport. My dad was stationed at Charleston AFB for awhile.

*I pretty sure it is the Cooper River. That or the Ashley, but technically Mount Pleasant, SC in any event.

I think they have nice beaches near there. Take time to take a swim and relax some. Have fun

I'm more of a museum fiend than a beach bum.
