...music to listen to, while doing your taxes?

My personal favorite is the Violent Femmes' album Add it Up (1981-1993)
I have no problem at all with being proved wrong. Especially when being proved wrong leaves the world a better place, than being proved right...

The Capital Steps - When IRS Guys are Smiling

    When your taxes are done
They've got you on the run
And you know what the governments plan
When they send you a bill
    For a cool fifty mil
And your saleries just twenty grand
    When IRS guys are smiling
    Watch your taxes multiply
IF you ever miss a filing
You can kiss your house goodbye
    Count your lucky Irish blessings
When they took your house you saw
    The IRS reposesing
    Your Visiting mother in law
"Lord... forgive me my actions, speech and thoughts. Because, Lord, I am seriously going to kick some unrighteous ass in Your Name, Amen."
Princess of Wands by John Ringo (Jan 2006)

You can't always get what you want.
Scientists have announced they've discovered a cure for apathy. However no one has shown the slightest bit of interest !!

        Hoobustank; Running Away
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.

I like this thread I'm doing my tax return now - in the background is "Panama" by Van Halen, maybe I'd be better off there

                That one had me rolling.

I listen to Marvin Gaye's "Inner City Blues"

                Rockets, moon shots
Spend it on the have nots
                Money, we make it
Fore we see it you take it
                Oh, make you wanna holler
The way they do my life
                Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
This ain't livin', This ain't livin'
No, no baby, this ain't livin'
                No, no, no
                Inflation no chance
                To increase finance
                Bills pile up sky high
Send that boy off to die
                Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
                Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
                Dah, dah, dah
                Dah, dah, dah
                Hang ups, let downs
                Bad breaks, set backs
                Natural fact is
                I can't pay my taxes
                Oh, make me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
Yea, it makes me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
                Crime is increasing
                Trigger happy policing
                Panic is spreading
                God know where we're heading
                Oh, make me wanna holler
                They don't understand

                  I usually listen to

                  Ferry Corsten - Airwave.

It's very relaxing and I need it to stay calm when I realize how much I'm forking over to the government to inefficiently waste.
"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."

                  – Associate Justice Louis D. Brandeis, Olmstead vs. United States.

Well, honestly, I do not listen to any music during this annoying time... (music will just make me more restless when following those rediculous instructions ---- e.g., they make you follow 10 steps up and down, but in fact, they just wanted you to do X*(1-0.089) --- holy christ!)

But after writing checks to IRS every year since I came here, I cannot help but wondering "did I do my taxes correctly?" Why I always heard other people are getting money back? And indeed, dudes, how much percentage you end up paying (fed+state+local+ss+medicare)? Some1 told me that the average is 20% ... but mine is way above that --- anyway anyone can confirm some info for me? Thanks a lot!
                    Attn to ALL my opponents:

If you sent me your turn and after 24 hours, you still did not get anything from me, please be sure to post in the forum to ask for what is going on.

Remember, I ALWAYS reply within 24 hours, even if I do NOT have time to play my turn, in which case I will at least send you email to tell you that I will have to play it later, but I DO receive your turn.

In the UK it is typically between 20-25%, that includes National Insurance which is supposed to go towards a state pension, but for my generation that is looking doubful and a private pension is a must. Also those percentages are based on earning less than 26 or 27 K (I think) after that your tax goes up to 40%.
