    In order to be a bit more neutral to the non-American users here (though I know they're the majority), would it be possible for a Current Events: North America section to be made?

            Eric is running a history magazine after all.
            North American events dominate Politics Central and The Barracks already. US defense policy takes up a lot of space in Weapons of War and Wars & Warfare.

            Current Events was created as a way to elevate non-US/Canadian events of potential historical significance and make them visible above the day to day noise. The next war isn't likely to start in the US. Nigeria however is another story.
            Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
