  • Can't update password

This I go into my user settings and can't change my password. I fill everything correctly but for some reason it says the emails don't match even though they do.

Send me a PM with the info and I'll have a look.

This new system gets glitchy at times ...
Every once-n-a-while while going thru the list of "notifications" I'll click on one and get a message that I'm not authorized to access a(that) certain thread. If I take the alternate route of go to "home" then scroll down and through the subforums-threads I can get in that way ...

This whole forum is full of glitches, and it looks like we're stuck with them. At least the stuff worked on the old forum.

Then why were we crashing seemingly on a weekly basis and infested with continuous tidal waves of spam?

Same reason we can't get anything fixed on this forum. Lack of interest by the powers that be.

Interesting that nothing ever interferes with the advertising, though.

The old format was getting too old and was no longer supported. It would be like you trying to access and stay on the internet with Windows 1 and no firewall and virus protection.

I'll concur that this new system is a large improvement over the previous one!

Seems nothing is free of "glitches" and the ones we have here are rather minor for the most part.

Way back when I was still actively involved in the management of large IT projects there was a growing school of thought that software was becoming so complex and multi-layered that it was becoming impossible to produce glitch free systems as fixing glitches discovered during testing etc often merely produced different glitches elsewhere and so on infinitum. It was considered that it might be most effective to 'fix' only mission critical errors and live with the minor ones.
