New Site - PLEASE READ

Hello All,
My name is Ashley and I am the one that moved the forum to its new hosting location. This was done for security reasons and try to keep the forum from going down every other day. I understand that the new forum looks very different from the old one but I promise almost everything you had before you still have it might just be in a different place.

Items that are gone due to a limitation of the new hosting/ forum update:
- Awards
- Flags

As I was going thought your posts I was able to fix a lot fo the issues you were listing. Below is kind of a running list of issues an what is fixed and what I am still working on.

Items that I have fixed from your comments:
- Smilie are now working.
- Color/Theme changes
- Signature are now showing up. (Here is how to edit them https://screencast.com/t/OJHzzhiV1)
- Ranking is now showing up.
- Private messaging is now working.

Some issues I am still working on are:
- Missing items from the Calendar
- Like button the posts is giving an error.

One other note I have seen a lot is theme/color related items. I know this is important to all of you but at the moment the most important thing was getting you back a functioning forum with as many features I can get you back from before.

Theme/color is something we can change but it the moment I do not have the time and resources to fix all of the issue and design the site. I did do some theme updates yesterday but it is very time consuming. Please just be patient with the forum as we get it back to as close as I can to what you had before.

If anyone has any issues that they are running in to please let me know in the post below. Please give me as much detail as possible .

Just inquiring as to the wisdom of running images of scantily clad, lasciviously moving females to the left of the forum pages.(Just now some sort of game with a moving graphic of a female apparently in the throes of wild abandon) Occasionally, during down times in class I will read and try to respond to forum issues only to have a buxom female appear moving ad nauseum to the left of where I'm trying mightily to pay attention. It also makes it very hard as well to use some of the great images found on these forums as a teaching aid.
Could these graphic ads be shown at other times rather than business/school hours? I realize that ad revenue most likely keeps ACG up and running but perhaps more appropriate (historic/military/sports) ads could be run during the day?

Doesn't your browser have an ad blocker? Mine does and I see none of these. Most halfway decent browsers have a blocker but you have to turn it on - usually in settings.

        Try User CP

Edit your profile, scroll down and select "No" for the Dial-Up Friendly options.
That will limit the space given to ads.

The actual ads are controlled by software which seems to think there are a lot of teenage boys here.

The actual ads are most likely selected and loaded by software. Much of what you see advertised on any site is now days is managed by automation. I'm using ghostery, so most of the time I don't see any ads at all. (Your results may vary. )

You can choose to limit the allowed ad services on a per-site basis depending on how intrusive they are, and how much you wish to support that particular site by allowing them to generate ad revenue from your visits.

Select Armchair Plain as your format. It removes the ads on the border.

No Script is your friend for blocking that material as well as those fake Firefox updates that showed up on this form that will install malware on your computer.

Anyone that uses Firefox knows that this is a fake.

Given that the alerts were only appearing on the Armchair General Forum and nowhere else, one has to assume that the auto advertisement function has been compromised. No Script blocks it and those adult theme gifs that infect the big border on the left of the monitor.
