Here's a pairing that leaves me wondering why these two tanks are still in the running. Oh yeah, now I remember.

Yep. I'm no happier about Leopard 1 than you are about Mk I-V.
"England expects that every man will do his duty!" (English crew members had better get ready for a tough fight against the combined French and Spanish fleets because that's what England expects! However, Scotland, Wales and Ireland appear to expect nothing so the Scottish, Welsh and Irish crew members can relax below decks if they like!)

Voted MK I to V. It brought the word "tank" to the military lexicon.

The Leo I is just another German cat!

Clearly ,by definition, the original tank Mk1-V wins.

Brits nailed it with this design!
              My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
              No lie.

I think the early Marks will carry the day.
Or maybe not, the 1920s weren't exactly a heyday for Tank advancement in technical areas.

Mark I-V because of the historical significance.

Got to be the MK1,it wasn't just innovative, it was an innovation.
The Leo 1 on the other hand is a classic case of a nation barking up the wrong tree.
While the Leo 1 was fast and hard hitting it was very thin skinned, this was a result of designers believing that the gun/armour race had been lost to the HEAT atk missile.

                          Ridiculously easy decision

Leopard 1, IMO, should not have gotten this far anyway.

                          Tanks Mk I-V.
