Both are still flying. I like the F 4 better.

The Hercules is irreplaceable, but the Phantom set new standards in versatility.

Two of the great ones. The Hercy Bird with four engines wasn't a new design taking a lot from WWII bombers and later civilain aircraft. It almost hurts to vote against it but I must. The F-4 did so much more and for the most part did it well.

I haven't voted yet, but just wanted to share some info' I recently read about in regards to the F-4G Wild Weasel. During the Gulf War the F-4Gs or the 'Weasel Police' were so effective in shutting down Iraqi radar activity they no longer had to cover any single strike package, but as much as 30 to 40 attack formations. No plane was lost to Iraqi SAMs while under the cover of the F-4G.

Nothing against the F4. Being a fighter-bomber style aircraft is a lot "sexier" than a prop plane, but the versatility of the C-130 is phenomenal. It does a lot more than what can be published! C-130 for me.

                      Too many transports.
I'm starting to wish I could go back and change a few votes.

Okay this vote is a pleasure. Not only is the Herky Bird much more useful, influential, ant truly multi-role, but it is prettier than the F4. No mean feat for a utility craft, but consider the opposition

It's too bad these two are going up against each other now. I was hoping they would both be in the finals, at which point I would have flipped a coin to determine my vote. That being said, I took the C-130. It does so much, and does it all well. From attack, to search and rescue, to cargo delivery, this should be the overall winner.
