From what I have read the Hudson could not survive around enemy fighters. I believe the Sally more significant.
Pruitt, you are truly an expert! Kelt06

Have you been struck by the jawbone of an ASS lately?

The Hudson did evolve into the Ventura(PV-1 Harpoon) which had a more useful combat record. Also the Hudson was a useful maritime patrol, transport and hack/utility aircraft.

Neither would last long unprotected, in the presence of enemy fighters. I think the Hudson was a bit more significant/influential overall.

No it didn't The Ventura was developed from a later larger and more powerful Lockheed airliner the Model 18 Lodestar. The Hudson was based on the earlier Model 14 Super Electra

Gotta be the ubiquitous Hudson. the other 'role' of the Sally included 'liason'. I'm sure the hudson could fly dignatories around as well, but that was not included in it's list. The Hudson was an important patrol aircraft in the Pacific.

The Sally's influence was short indeed by comparison.

              hudson for me here.

Didn't need to that's what the Lockheed Super Electra was for.
