Redleg, I'd really have to agree with you on that. Tom Cruise just doesn't strike me a s a plausible spy.I think hta his role in "Risky Business" sort of marked him for life. And that ridiculous antic on the Oprah program sort of just iced the cake and put the last nail in his body bag...

Have I even said that I hate Mission Impossible... Not that I hate the story line or the high-tech cool-guy stuff or even the supporting cast... I just don't like Tom Cruise... He's an on/off camera dumba!

I never saw Casablanca as a spy movie. Guess I will have to watch it again.

Casablanca is a pure classic. The Odessa File is also a favorite of mine. Loved the book too.

I'm more taken aback by the fact that a gem such as Melville's 'Army of Shadows' get so few votes from what is supposed to be a forum of aficionados

I need to give a huge push to "The Quiet American". Frazier and Caine are great in that movie and it is pretty faithful to the book.

Graham Greene may have not liked America much, but he did write good books.

The commentary begins usually when the actual campaign begins...

The campaign ribbon requirements are only incumbent upon the actual campaign rounds.

Methinx most folks tend to keep their powder dry for the actal battles.

    Glad to remedy that
Good to notice that 'Syriana' was included. I consider this a thinking man's spy movie, quite realistic in its cynicism who dies and why.
Another of its many plusses was that I found the way Pakistani workers in the Gulf were recruited into becoming suicide bombers very believable
    Great new 'Attack' BTW
