    ...another favorite blunder was Adm. Kelly Turner leaving the 1st MARDIV on Guadalcanal in August of '42 taking with him half the supplies for the division before they were unloaded.

      I don't know if that was a blunder as much as it was criminal. He should have been court martialed for that.

        If I'm not mistaken, he left because of the threat to his ships being sunk by the Japanese surface fleet. They were running around unchecked and could have destroyed what little was left of our navy

          greatest blunder in history

          I think Hitler's declureing war on the U.S. and his going after Russia tie for the greatest blunder in military history because look what happened to his side in the end.
