  • Best Pin Up of WW II: Paulette Goddard vs Anne Baxter (Round 1)

    Paulette Goddard

(June 3, 1910 – April 23, 1990) I had second thoughts about her, but the portfolio is so good she must have been in a lot of foot-lockers! Her stage debut was in the Ziegfeld revue No Foolin in 1926. She received one Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, for the 1943 film So Proudly We Hail!, but did not win. Her most successful film was Kitty (1945), in which she played the title role.

    Anne Baxter

(May 7, 1923 – December 12, 1985) Seems young, but by the age of 13, she had appeared on Broadway. Her first movie role was in 20 Mule Team in 1940. She was chosen by director Orson Welles to appear in The Magnificent Ambersons (1942). She was later in The Ten Commandments … oh yeah, that girl…

            Hardest choice ever!

I agree that the last picture of Anne is stunning.

Both these women smoulder, but Anne is more provocative in her posing.

                              Paulette for me.

                              Legs win it.

(English crew members had better get ready for a tough fight against the combined French and Spanish fleets because that's what England expects! However, Scotland, Wales and Ireland appear to expect nothing so the Scottish, Welsh and Irish crew members can relax below decks if they like!)
