I voted for the M4A2 Diesel, then I saw the Matilda II. The Matilda is light enough to go places the Shermans and Soviet Tanks can't go. I do think the Soviets had some T-26's they used in their offense. They may well have been in the Far East for years. Many units that were transferred from Europe brought the tanks they were using there.

The Soviet entries saw almost no action in Asia while the M4 (diesel) varieties with the USMC were heavily engaged right up to the end of the war.
The gasoline Sherman was just as important in the CBO. China was using it, along with the British / Commonwealth, and US Army.
The 75mm M3 gun was a perfect HE tosser which is really what you need versus the Japanese.

None of the others have a proven track record over the Sherman. I went with the M4A2 (Diesel).
          My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
          No lie.

The Sherman, since it's the only one with a lengthy proven combat record against the Japanese, who basically had no armor worthy of the name anyway.
Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes? Who is watching the watchers?

The second best tank for winning is the T34/85 on the basis of its gun alone, better penetration bigger H.E> shell.Add in more experienced crews and arty support and the Sherman is pushed into third place.IMHO.
