  • Idlib Dawn

Operation Idlib Dawn launched by the Syrian army yesterday targeting the Islamic militants in the Idlib pocket. First success occurred yesterday when the SAA captured the strategic height of Tal Othman. The offensive continued today with the SAA storming the militant stronghold of Kafr Nabudah, which the SAA failed to do in 2015. By capturing Kafr Nabudah, the SAA has now the east-west supply line between Khan Sheikhun and Qalat Madiq. It is expected the SAA offensive will attempt to seize the high ground between the M5 highway, the main north-south militant supply route, and the strategic al-Ghab valley.

Is little Bana of Aleppo there ?

If she is - she best get out, we're planning a chemical attack there

According to Major General Viktor Kupchishin, head of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation in Syria, intelligence has been received which indicates that France and Belgium intelligence services have been plotting to stage a ‘false flag’ chemical attack in Idlib in order to frame to somehow frame Russia and strengthen the case for further western military intervention and aid to terrorist forces currently occupying Idlib.
A batch of poisonous gas, believed to be chlorine-based, has been already delivered to a number of villages in the Idlib province. The poison is packed in canisters disguised as oxygen and natural gas tanks, according to the Russian military.

With the SAA capturing Kafr Nabudah yesterday and severing the east-west supply line for militant forces based in the fortress town of Qa'lat al-Mudiq, militant forces this morning abandoned Qa'lat al-Madiq and the nearby town of al-Tuwaynah (south of the red line). Several militant attempts to recapture Kafr Nabudah during the night also. Reports the militants are continuing to withdraw north of Qa'lat al-Mudiq and that a Turkish observation post has also withdrawn.

SAA now reported to have captured the towns of Kirkat and al-Shariah, north of Qa'lat al-Madiq. The entire area below the red line now reported captured today - some confirmed by opposition sources as well.

SAA offensive continues in the SE corner of the HTS/Al Qaeda Idlib pocket. Several militant counter-attacks have ended in disaster, including one failed assault on on al-Hamamriyat which left dozens killed and nine vehicles destroyed. Militant forces reported being pulled from the north to assist the battle in the south against the SAA. Focus tomorrow should be on the ridge (in light green below). Area in red has been captured by the SAA over the past week.

EDIT: Area in red already outdated. Today SAA captured Huwayz Tahtani and Huwayz Hurriyat

Desperate move from Nusairite regime. Maybe its hard to accept this fact but ....Trumps sanctions are effective and Assads cash cow- Iran will not be able to support him in near future, nor any shia group there anymore.

Assad knows that he ll remain without irans help and now he is rushing to do something.

You are way off base. This offensive has been planned for several months and has nothing to do with Iran sanctions. It is a response to militant attacks directed against the Russian air base in the area. An agreement was reached between Russian and Turkey which is why the Turks abandoned their observation post in the area as soon as the offensive began.
