  • Iranian Nuclear Program Setback

A fire at Iran’s main nuclear fuel enrichment site caused significant damage, setting back the country’s nuclear program by months, the government acknowledged on Sunday, after initially saying the destruction was minor.

A Middle Eastern intelligence official with knowledge of the episode said Israel was responsible for the attack on the Natanz nuclear complex on Thursday, using a powerful bomb. A member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps who was briefed on the matter also said an explosive was used.

Iran's nuclear program was at an advanced stage, this had to be done. Israel carried out this mission to buy the world some more time.

Who is to say the Iranians did not cause the fire themselves?

This seems to be what the Iranians are claiming.

The explosion was caused by "negligence in filling oxygen tanks," the Kahrizak district governor told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty on Tuesday. The walls of the Saipa Press Company, located next to the factory, were damaged by the explosion as well.

I find it odd that it's not just one self inflicted incident but several.

Thursday's explosion is the most recent in a series of explosions and fires reported in industrial areas and infrastructure throughout Iran.

Al-Arabiya reported that the explosions occurred in missile depots belonging to the IRGC southwest of Tehran.

Why? What's the point? To do what?

Maybe to delay/prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons which would likely be used against Israel, the West, or "evil Satan USA". Especially in form of device to provide an EMP strike that would have crippling consequences.

Two years ago, when Mossad raided an atomic archive in Teheran, it produced thousands of official documents which list the people involved in the Iranian nuclear effort; locations of hidden nuclear development sites; front organizations Iran set up to pursue nuclear parts and know-how within the framework of the deal; Westerners who collaborated in smuggling components for the nuclear military effort; extensive weaponization efforts, and more.

Israel provided solid proof that Iran's nuclear program is alive and well. The IAEA had no choice but to follow up. Their findings exposed Iran for enrichment that violated caps written into the accord and censured Iran for blocking inspection access to two key nuclear sites. This is recent.

Israel is now cleaning Obama’s mess. Last week was the 5th anniversary of Obama's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the handover of cash on pallets to Iran.

It would be great if they wipe each other out, Iran and Israel

They don't need to "wipe eachother out", just cancel eachother out and help balance the other players in the region, Turks and Arabs mostly

as long they're all occupied wich eachother none of them can be all that troublesome to the rest of us.
