Had to double check this twice to see if it was real, but apparently it is (according to two separate WH correspondents). Trump's letter to Erdogan from 9 October.

If this is real, and still can't believe it is, it is hard to imagine a worse letter addressed to Erdogan. Erdogan is a vain, emotional, and defensive individual who craves respect. Having the President of the United State suggest he is a fool and is trying to act like a tough guy likely sent Erdogan through the roof. Now that this has been leaked to the public, it is hard to imagine anything constructive coming from the Pence-Erdogan meeting.

The content of the letter is not very diplomatically, but there is still no proof that the letter was sent to Erdogan .Besides, it could be that the meeting of Trump and Erdogan was also not diplomatically and that the letter was only a rehearsal of what was said .
The letter (probably leaked by the WH ) only proves that Trump warned Erdogan for the risks of his invasion : the Kurdish Lobby and the snow flakes on Capitol Hill would whine and Trump would not alienate them by supporting Erdogan .And if forced ( by the snow flakes and the Kurdish lobby ) he would impose sanctions on the Turkish economy .
The letter proves that Trump did not abandon the Kurds .
Trump did also not explicitly advise Erdogan not to intervene .
The letter from Mazloum means that the Kurds were not surprised and could have retreated before the Turkish attack .
Erdogan decided ( as did the Kurds ) to disregard the warnings from Trump and he has only himself to blame for being in the sh$t.
The same for the Kurds .

Following the left wing Axios site, the letter repeated only what Trump told Erdogan during previous meetings .

          Welcome to the post-reality age

That's after Trump's announcement to withdraw, but before the Turks actually crossed the border isn't ?

When everyone was still looking at eachother thinking "Is he serious…?"

Now that this has been leaked to the public, it is hard to imagine anything constructive coming from the Pence-Erdogan meeting.
I don't think it was leaked, Trump himself had it published as I understand it, to counter domestic criticism…

The Pence-Erdogan meeting, arguably should have taken place before the US withdrawal, when there was still something to negotiate about.

Now the Syrians and Russians are in between, and the Kurds have switched sides, there's really not much left to discuss is there…?

Edit, Skoblin sorry, just saw your other post, will limit discussion in this thread, feel free to move this if needed..

Turkey has agreed to a ceasefire in northern Syria to let Kurdish-led forces withdraw, US Vice-President Mike Pence has announced.
Translated Turkish forces are getting heavier casualties than expected but if the Kurds can be convinced to withdraw ......
Overview America First means what is says on the can and any one who teams up can be expected to get well and truly shafted if it suits the White House to dump them.

Sorry, mates. Been busy doing research for my book the last two days. Will make a post tomorrow about the so-called ceasefire. The MSM interpretation is completely off-base... as with most msm reporting on Syria. Suffice it to say, no agreement between Ankara and Washington is worth the paper it is printed on. Everything will be decided in Moscow.

Meh, Turks are always deeply disappointed, or deeply angered, or deeply sadened, or deeply overjoyed,

they're a deep people in general
