  • New Iranian Military Exercises

The Iran has made new military exercises in the Street of Hormus. Middle-range rocckets were launched, which could - as the Iranian military authorities declared- sank ships till 3000 tons. Also torpedos and underwater rockets were also testet successfuly at that military exercise. The common meaning is now, that this Iranian military measure is a provocation against the world-peace.

It is not the common meaning, its yours and the rest of the isolated world. If the security would have a drill in an underground station isnt it a provocation against the population to stay still at home?
This drill was announced and registered and allowed. As well as the ships were warned about the risks in this drill area. In between the traffic in the strait is coming up again but slowly. It is still much less then normal.
If this Velayat 91 should be a provocation against world peace every drill would be a provocation like this, so the common meaning.

May it is hard to accept that the strait of Hormuz is under control of the Iran. The strait is part of their territorial waters. But it is like this and it seems, that nobody can change this situation and only a few want to change this, may through hitting the heard of Tehran like Netanjahu said a few days ago. This offer make the Iran laugh so much. We should life with this facts and so we can secure the world peace and the US$ and the USA. On this it was no bad idea to deploy nearly all US-carriers at home. It is a big sing of peace willing, may some kind of capitulation. They should stay further at home.

We have found some "front end" of Iranian electronically warfare system. Ok, we can check this cause there are some electronically ingenious are handling such equipment for measurement. But we have no one who can connect this to weapon systems. May somebody can give further informations about?

Only those touched by Allah believe the Straits of Hormuz are under the control of Iran.

Oh! They shoot few fireworks on Happy New Year and is this a problem? Where in your opinion should they exercise? OnPersian Gulf? Wait isn't US Navy there?

No, the exercise was no problem. They could begin and end it as they want, meanwhile I could not register any ship traffic in the Strait and not much was said about this in the "news". A kind of business as usual? The Iran had only to send back 30 enemy spy-jets. The plans reacted prompt after getting the last warning. The USS John C. Stennis stayed the whole time in Jebel Ali, at this holiday coast. Last time, Velayat 90, they did exercise also in the Persian Gulf, whether the US-Navy is there or not. Mostly they press the US-Navy back as they need it to win space for exercise and the commanders are not operating with mind.

              a. The exercise is over.
              b. It was held in the Gulf and in the Arabian Sea, not in the Strait of Hormuz.

(Casanova uses a translator and his English version of events frequently gets these things wrong. When you get as old as he is, we'll see how well you do. )

I'm really not sure what Tuffgong is going on about regarding frequency analyzers. This is some of what is flying over the Arabian Gulf right now:

              ES-3A Shadow

              RC-135 RIVET JOINT

              Guardrail

Those are just a few of the unclassified programs.

Okay, your post makes more sense now. That looks like a commercial product. Not sure how much military application it has.

Yep. It is not very high-tech. Its a low to mid-range spectrum analyzer that is in use in many places in the commercial world, with a cost of about $26,000. Its an Agilent Technologies model E4402 ESA-E.

A U.S. company, Agilent Technologies, is a spin-off of Hewlett-Packard Company. From a small garage in Palo Alto, California, to employees around the world serving customers in 110 countries, Agilent has a long history of innovation and leadership in the communications, electronics, semiconductor, test and measurement, life sciences and chemical analysis industries.

I am sure TuffGong and the Iranians are very impressed with it. You can buy one yourself at:

That's it? It looks like the on-stage kit for DikMik at a Hawkwind concert in 1972.

The comments are amusing, however, especially the one complaining about pollution in Tehran. Expect the secret police to be knocking on some hapless citizen's door right now ...

Question for the pilots around here: When Iran does a big live fire exercise they issue NOTAMs just like everyone else don't they? Where would I find the NOTAMs for Dec 28 - Jan 3 for Iran's last exercise?
