  • Turkey grounds Syrian plane over suspicious cargo

    From abc.net.au

... Turkey scrambled fighter jets to escort the passenger jet into the Ankara airport.
Turkish media say missile parts were found on the plane.
Turkish foreign minister Ahment Davutoglu says authorities seized "objectionable cargo" on the plane, before allowing it to continue its flight.
The plane, which was on its way from Moscow to Damascus, was carrying 35 passengers.
Russia's Interfax agency says 17 of the passengers were Russian nationals.
