  • Iran ups the bounty on Rushdie

"The latest controversy over an Islamophobic film would not have occurred if Salman Rushdie had been killed, according to an Iranian state-run institute which has now increased the bounty on the head of the British author to about $3.3m (2m).

Hassan Sanei, the head of the state-funded 15 Khordad, who is also the representative of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the institute made his remarks in a statement published by local news agencies on Sunday. "

Time to tell them, unless they clearly say that this has been withdrawn, that the remaining diplomatic relations with Iran are now finished.

So, if an actual government instead of a radical dufus group is putting a bounty on an author's head why doesn't someone take the Iranian leadership to the World Court? Certainly one country putting out a 'hit' on someone simply due to writing a book is illegal. At least it would show that Iran is truly the world home of terrorism.

Who is going to go in and get them?

Or are you assuming if they are charged before the world court that they'll turn themselves in voluntarily?

      Sincerely,
      M
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

I think that it'd make a good UN resolution. They are good at wasting money, might as well let them waste money on something which I'd like done.
