  • Seehofer travels to Putin : Druzhba ! Friendship!

Politicians in Germany are tired of the general liberal hardline against Russia,
They want to get back to normal relations.

Don't you think that the strain on the Russian, EU, US is as much Russia's fault as those in the west.

After all relations were good until Putin's Hitler like move into the Crimean

      Your comparison is moot.

Not really! Nothing at all different than Hitlers move into the Sudetenland. P used the same excuse as H when P went into the Crimea

The catch is that sovereignity of nations as well as referendums and people's will is only respected when it suits the stronger/our side.

So annexing an autonomous republic using threats of violence and open invasion is sometimes OK, as it is to attack, break up nations, support insurgencies and proclaim independence of former autonomous regions using strategic terror bombing and without any referendum.

          In short:

Not this ignorant moralistic crap again.

On the matter of German-Russian relations, I honestly don't understand what was and is the driving force behind the Russian desire to be friendly with their historical and current opponents.

And since Hitler had a dog maybe it's a reason to compare all those who own dogs with Hitler ?

Self-fulfilling prophesy if ever there was one. If soverignity counted for nothing, it wouldn't exist. It's an argument of about the same dignity of the US neo-con "billiards theory of international politics". It's one of these "worse than a crime — a mistake" fallacies. Never mind that it's wafer thin apologetics for Russian unilateral land-grabbing.

Of course, Russia is free to try to prove the truth of it, if it thinks it benefits it in some way. The positive reactions to the example set by Russia should be ticking in, as well as emulations of Russia's actions.

Reminds me of the last year Greek referendum.

If you slept through all the last 15 years - yes, they were good. However more attentive observers could notice obvious signs of accumulated strain and conflicts

He also drank beer. So if you drink beer you're doing it like Hitler.
