  • They Vote - They're the Future - Looks Grim

Recent months events show that most of the money spent by this nation on education is a waste. Decades of educational decline has produced a generation that may be "educated" but are ignorant and a danger to themselves and the future of this nation. We have not gotten our money's worth in end product, the next generation has been scammed with student loans and government debt for an education system that has shown to be defective and systemic inept.

'The country is not going to survive': Mark Levin reacts to jaw-dropping Campus Reform video
College students had no clue what YEAR our country declared its independence
    ...
On "LevinTV" this week, host Mark Levin reacted to a Campus Reform video in which students fail spectacularly to answer some of the most basic questions about America's founding, such as what year our country declared independence, which nation we declared independence from, and what war was fought for American independence.

While most of the students couldn't even come close to answering these questions, they were quick to assert that America is a racist country "built off of slavery."

"This will frighten you," Levin said of the video. "They [students] know a whole lot about so-called systemic racism, so-called systemic inequality, so-called systemic injustice. They know about all the warts and vices in our past, but they won't know about the greatness of the country because they're not taught about [that]."

Levin noted how much the average American pays through taxes for the public school systems, which have been nationalized by "har-core left-wing Democrat operations" such as the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, while parents often have absolutely no insight into or say about what is taught in our country's classrooms.

    Here's the Campus Reform link/video;

VIDEO: Young Americans know nothing about 4th of July
    • Campus Reform spoke with young Americans and students ahead of the 4th of July to see what they knew about the holiday.
    • Most said America was a racist country but couldn’t answer simple questions about the country’s Independence Day.
Ahead of the Fourth of July, Campus Reform spoke with young Americans to ask them basic questions about the nation’s founding.

Young Americans and students were asked by Digital Reporter Eduardo Neret what the holiday commemorates, which year the country declared independence, which nation the United States declared independence from, and what which was fought for American independence.

Many could not answer these questions. Some answered that America gained its independence in the 20th century, while others said the corresponding war was the Civil War, World War I, and even World War II.

    The Fragility of the Woke

    Victor Davis Hanson / @VDHanson / July 09, 2020
    ...
A TikTok video that recently went viral on social media showed a recent Harvard graduate threatening to stab anyone who said “all lives matter.” In her melodrama, she tried to sound intimidating with her histrionics.

She won a huge audience as she intended. But her video also came to the attention of the company that was going to give her an internship later this summer, Deloitte, which decided it didn’t want to add an intern who threatened to kill strangers who said something she didn’t like.

This wouldn’t have been much of a story. But then the narcissistic Harvard alum posted a very different video—one that showed her weeping in a near-fetal position.

She fought back tears while complaining how unfair the world had been to her. Her initial TikTok post had earned cruel pushback from the social media jungle she had courted. Deloitte, she sobbed, was mean and hurtful. And she wanted the world to share her pain.

The Harvard grad instantly became an unwitting poster girl for the current protest movement and the violence that has accompanied it. What turns off millions of Americans about the statue toppling, the looting, the threats, and the screaming in the faces of police is the schizophrenic behavior of so many of the would-be revolutionaries.
    ...
The televised stereotype of the Antifa activist is a physically unimpressive but violent-talking revolutionary. He seems to strut in laid-back, blue-city Minneapolis but wisely avoids the suburbs and small towns of the nation’s red states. He spits at police when standing beside fellow agitators but would never do that when alone confronting an autoworker or welder.

When police march against the Antifa crowd and their appendages in order to clear the streets, they often scream like preteens, objecting to mean officers who dare to cross them.

When arrested, the trash talkers are usually terrified of being jailed or of having an arrest on their records.

Federal authorities are currently searching thousands of videos to ferret out looters, arsonists, and assailants. Perpetrators who are caught are shocked that the evidence that they once posted online in triumphant braggadocio is now being used to charge them with felonies.
    ...
Earlier generations went to college mainly to become educated and develop marketable skills. They weren’t very interested in ethnic and gender “studies” courses, ranting professors, and woke administrators. For the students of the 1960s who were, protesting was a side dish to a good investment in an affordable college degree that would pay off later.

But when such pathways are blocked, beware.

The woke but godless, the arrogant but ignorant, the violent but physically unimpressive, the degreed but poorly educated, the broke but acquisitive, the ambitious but stalled—these are history’s ingredients of riot and revolution.

There's a reason why our current state of affairs are just as bad as our future outlook. Boomers are just as ignorant on basic civics as our younger generation. No surprise there, ignorant adults leads to ignorant children. But, all anyone wants to do is point their finger instead of holding their own accountable for anything.

Only 32% of Americans can name the 3 branches of government:

        https://yubanet.com/usa/survey-only-...of-government/

Basic stuff! 32% is actually an increase over the previous year.

        1 in 5 can't name a single branch:

        https://www.al.com/news/2019/09/1-in...overnment.html

Only 7% of the country can name the first four presidents:

        https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-re...unding-fathers

The survey above is from 2007. The kids you're complaining about were only 7 years old at that time. So this is not an issue exclusive to our youth. This is a cultural issue that boomers are just as much at fault for. Americans have been viewed as ignorant for decades and for good reason. We have a reality TV star as President, not because of our youth, but because of our older generation. A reality TV star who thinks you can inject Lysol into the body and his older generation supporters will deflect and defend such comments instead of being intellectually honest enough to call it what it is.

Mark Levin is a right wing radical and what he says should be taken with a very large salt pill. Hanson should stick to the classical age.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

However, one would expect the situation to improve and the numbers to get better over time, not worst. Especially given excess dollar$ pumped into "Education".

Some might bitch about De Vos in her position, but decades records of the "Experts" shows even greater decline in "bang for buck$" than what is in play now.

Thing is many would expect to see an improvement in scores, not a decline. We are seeing a shrinking return on dollar$ invested which suggest there is a "systemic deficiency" in teaching essentials of citizenship to up coming generations.

We Citizens/Taxpayers are NOT getting our money's worth from the quasi-professionals in "Education".

Those seeking to Undermine and Destroy the USA are getting their money's worth. !!!!

In other times such would be defined as Treason and Sedition.

Always with the conspiracy theories. If your children are not getting a proper education it's your fault. If things are worse off after your generation has been in power, then again it is your fault. It's not some fifth column order of secret communists undermining the nation. But thinking it is does explain why things are doing downhill.

Was going to say the same. The biggest problem are the parents. You can't expect the state to raise your children for you. At some point you need to be active as a parent. Have your kids read books on their own time and have conversations with them that will expand their horizons.

Also, I did provide an example that showed things are improving, but apparently that was ignored. Doesn't fit the narrative.

You are probably seeing the problems arising both from the US method of teaching to the test (i.e. standardized and commercialized testing) and the basis of the US usage of the idiom "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach." You get what you ordered. On the other hand if you didn't want ignorant youth then perhaps a different approach would have been prudent?

Those policies were not chose by the youth but by their parents...

Fairly easy to tell whom are not parents nor have raised children in the USA during the past few decades, dealing with the institutions of K-12 "education" as it self-destructs here.

Clue, check the funding sources and demands such place .... for a start.
