Yeah, Canucks are usually slow thinkers. That's why my ancestors fled south: they were so quick-witted that the backwards Habs branded them witches.

I look forward in seeing an example of that quick-wit!

Speaking of quick, Slick Jr outskated some of your youngsters last fall when they came down here looking for an easy tilt. What they got was the a$$es beat.

          Good stuff! Congrats to Jr.

I coached for a couple of years. It was just house league but we got into a few tilts with you yankees. Lost a few (one badly) and won a few. The hard part in trying to organize those sort of exhibition games for what was essentially a non-travelling team was finding teams of equal ability. Lots of different regions with different regulations on how they can choose their teams, bigger pools of talent from wider areas etc can make a difference. One area may have only one level and another may have 3 different levels for the same age group.

No doubt about it, Americans can put together some wicked players and teams. Second best in the world is pretty good.

              Wrong again.

A fully controlled congress during his first 2 years in office......while he was working on stopping the Korean War. The rest of his time it was a divided congress.

He did send troops down to back up the law..

              Try again..

IT is enough... and the Korean Armistice was signed more than a year before the end of the first mid-term

More than that, if a president and his party are really interested in promoting a particular agenda, nobody not even a Congress controlled by the other side can force them remain inactive.

A president, can always instruct the federal agencies to change regulations in an attempt to promote his agenda or can use his position to make his case in front of te public about particular issue and challenge the Congress.

Ike had two terms to address or attempt to address the issue of race in federal housing programs by doing all of the above.

The GOP could also show a commitment to fix the issue of racism in federal housing programs even after they lost the Congress. Minority parties do such things all the time. Pelosi and the Democrats make their agenda clear even when they do not control the Congress and even when proposals or even House Bills are "dead on arrival"' in the Senate. Republicans also make their agenda clear even when they are not in power.

Thus inaction during the 8 yeas of the Ike administration is a sign that addressing racial inequalities in the federal housing programs was not part of anybody's agenda.

You mean Finnish? As attested by the fact that we are the reigning world champions. Our win last year was so overwhelming that they cancelled the world championship for this year because other countries needed an extra year to recover.

I could only think of Teemu Selanne and a few goalies. But when was the last time Finland won the Olympics? The world championship is competitive but surely it’s not as competitive and renown as the Winter Olympics.

The Soviet union was very good of course they were a larger country compared to Russia so that allows them to have better players.

I think this is closer to the truth. It's still discriminatory and prejudiced, and the wealth and social cliques are sometimes separated along racial or ethnic lines.

First 2 years of a term is not enough time to stop the democrat's programs.

8 years was enough to voice his agenda about the practices in the federal housing loans and even change regulations which do not require any congressional approval) that reflect the president's agenda on the issue. It happens ALL THE TIME with presidents who have an agenda that contradicts a Congress controlled by the opposite party.
